Members of the Associated Students of Cerritos College (ASCC) Cabinet, Court, and Senate will have a joint meeting with the Board of Trustees to discuss student safety, funding for transfer services and having more textbooks available in the library.
The meeting will be held on April 29 at 6:30 p.m. in the Cherly A. Epple Board room.
The athletics department could possibly have its funding cut by $24,000. This will be on the agenda for the Wednesday, April 20 ASCC Senate meeting.
Commissioner of Athletics Sarah Hickman expressed her concern and said she would be present at the meeting to object the budget cuts.
Interested students are invited to come and speak out on the issue as well.
Senate meetings are held every Wednesday at 2 p.m. at BK 111, which is located east of the bookstore and across from the game room.
Party Whip Athena Sanchez said that $7,000 was approved for the military ball.
Commissioner of the Student Center Illene Ochoa said that the rules for the Student Center were decided on and Cabinet agreed to have the rules posted up in the Student Center.
Dean of Student Services Gilbert Contreras said that since Culinary Arts will be leaving the food court soon, he would like members of cabinet to survey students on what eatery they would like added.
According to Commissioner of Student Services Edgar Torres volunteers are still needed for Senior Preview Day which will be held Friday, April 24.
