Another blowout win for Cerritos Mens Basketball as they beat Los Angeles Harbor City College by 34, 108-74.
The Falcons went on to clinch the conference with a 9-0 record while winning their tenth in a row.
“Once we got aggressive it was downhill from there,” coach Russ May speaks on there slow start to the game—eventually picking it up.
Falcons trailed 18-13 early in the game, but with about 10 minutes to go in the first half that’s when the team started to find a rhythm offensively.
The team went on a run which eventually led to Cerritos ending the first half up with a 14 point lead, 46-32.
After coming out of the locker room—the Falcons kept getting hotter and hotter as they ran the score up with a three-point borrage and easy fast break opportunities from forced turnovers.
Falcons finished the game with thunderous dunks from No. 21 Jonathan Guzman and No. 1 Demetrius Thomas.
Although, Thomas did end up with a technical foul for hanging on the rim too long.
“We wore them down a little bit, they were undermanned and we were able to take advantage of that,” May said.
Falcons shot 50 percent from beyond the arc on 15-30 shooting.
Falcons set a season high for three pointers made in the game with 15 as they blew open the competition with their long range bombs.

Smith tells how he slowed the game down and made the decision to find his teammates open for easy looks beyond the arc—”Just reading the defense,” Smith said, “seeing what they were giving me.
“They were packing the paint so I got to find my shooters.”
Smith finished the game while almost recording his first triple-double scoring 14 points, nine assists and nine rebounds.
As they were starting to focus on his teammates, Smith said, more and more open shots came his way and he took them.
“Play good defense and play good offense, we wanted to out play and out work them,” Mack said after the game about their mindset against L.A. Harbor.
Speaking of the Falcons next game playing Long Beach City College on Friday, “That’ll be a fight,” May said, “After their last game here (at Cerritos College), its going to be a war.”
May expects their last regular season game to be a battle for the books, one that’ll be fun to watch in the stands and difficult on the sideline.
