Vaccinating your children should not be a choice that families can so loosely decide not to do. Very popular in today’s news is many mothers choosing not to vaccinate their children due to negative side effects such as autism which has never been medically proven. In a recent news article, measles outbreaks have been very prevalent in areas like Brooklyn, New York.
The following for anti-vax moms has become so large in today’s news and many moms are opting to go anti-vax instead of trusting their doctors who have gone through a minimum of seven years of intense schooling to help these moms who have researched a movement on twitter and decided to follow it.
On March 28, Donald Trump tweeted, “Healthy young child goes to doctor, gets pumped with massive shot of many vaccines, doesn’t feel good and changes – AUTISM. Many such cases!” in support of the newly popular anti-vax movement.
At this point, it’s pretty clear that our president is just trying to pull as many voters in as he can, even if it means that his credibility is diminished in the process.
There has never been a case in the history of modern vaccinations that a child has gotten a vaccine and obtained autism after.
This type of political method is dangerous simply because it gives a false sense of credibility to a movement that has no medical backing behind it.
When you have someone in such a high point of power who is very influential giving credibility to a movement like this, it is dangerous to the minds of many Americans.
In November 2002, measles were declared eliminated in many regions such as North, Central and South America but since the anti-vax movement, measles outbreaks have been more prominent than ever before.
This virus has resurfaced because of these anti-vax moms choosing to not vaccinate their children from articles that they find on the internet that have no medically trained backing on them.
Popular celebrities such as Kat Von D have also expressed their support for the anti-vax movement but after receiving so much hate from her supports she retracted her statement and then made a statement saying, “If I would have known that I would have let so many people down with that I would have never ever shared.”
As a whole, moms need to hold these anti-vaxers accountable for the safety of their children and the safety of the American people.
The anti-vax movement is causing an outbreak over information that is not medically proven and should go to a medical professional if there are concerns or questions about a vaccination their child may be receiving.
