Ole! The chant heard around the soccer field at Mount San Antonio College as the Cerritos College Falcons women’s soccer team defeated the Santiago Canyon College Hawks 2-0 for the CCCAA State Championship trophy for the third time in six seasons.
The game was back and forth throughout the 90 minutes of competition, but it was Cerritos College that led by the two goals scored by sophomore defender Gaby Zamarripa, who would reign victorious.
With the victory, the Falcons finish the season 21-2-2, and on a six-game winning streak in which it outscored opponents 19-3.
