Influencer Kai Cenat is facing major controversy after his fans created a riot during a giveaway he held in New York City.
The question that has come up the most during this controversy is how did this happen? And, Is it all Kai Cenat’s fault?
Truthfully, all of this happened because it was an unorganized event held by Cenat that was not approved by the city.
Cenat held this event without an obtained permit so this giveaway shouldn’t have taken place in the first place if he didn’t follow protocol.
It is hard to say the actions of all the people involved in this riot is all on Cenat because he really has no control on what these people will do.
“The viewers action reflect on what they see”, and by no means is Cenat promoting violence on his streams. With Cenat he is a very wild and outgoing streamer.
He will honestly do some unecessary things on his stream just to entertain his audience for example having a firework war in his house
The part that can really hurt Cenat’s case is the stream he had before the giveaway stating that. “Its going to be a movie” and, “NYPD is gon be mad”.
Him expressing this before the event makes it sound convincing that he expected craziness to take place but of course not this extent.
Another part of the story that makes this sound insane is that Cenat stated on his stream that he only expected 300-500 people to show up……excuse me?
It blows my mind that he thought that only that many people would show up when he is currently the biggest streamer in the world.
He promoted the give away on his stream with over 100k people watching and his instagram story where he has 5.8 million followers.
To add to this it was an event in the biggest city in America where Cenat is from, New York City, and he was giving away free stuff and it wasn’t just little things.
He was giving away Gaming PCs, PS5’s, microphones and all this great material so you have to ask yourself where does common sense come into play or any sense of awareness.
Even if he was giving this stuff out it also brings up the fact that damn near all of these kids walked to the event so lets say a kid won a PS5.
Do you think its a great idea to have a young teenager walk through New York City with a PS5 in his hands?
In all honesty this isn’t all Kai Cenat’s fault, but when you are as big of an influencer like him it seems like a better idea to have an event like this held in a venue where a fan has to pay to go to.
He also helped multiple people who were in danger during this event. Like a young boy who was struggling to breathe.
Because with how young and reckless his fans are something like this was bound to happen.

Contrary to popular belief. Kai’s personal team and the content creator group (he’s a member and part owner of with the 5 other members of the group who are in front of the camera) called ANY MEANS POSSIBLE or AMP (no it’s not a PR firm that Kai hired) for short actually contacted NYPD to let them know of the giveaway. They didn’t take it seriously bc numerous content creators to pop up meet and greats throughout the city without obtaining a permit. They just haven’t seen it to this scale and are trying to cover their asses. I heard they gave him the ok and didn’t steer him in the direction to contact City Hall or the Councilpersons of the Ward that Union Square is apart of to obtain a permit. Hopefully Kai or his teams kept proof of that
