Nicki Minaj needs her phone taken away from her..
As someone who was a Nicki fan since the 5th grade, who no longer supports her, in my honest opinion she need to stop making music and get off of social media.
In recent Megan Thee Stallion song “Hiss” she triggers Nicki Minaj and her fan base.
“These h*es don’t be mad at Megan, these h*es mad at Megan’s Law”
Megan’s Law is a federal law requiring law enforcement authorities to make information available to the public regarding registered sex offenders.
Even though no names were stated in “Hiss,” Minaj took offense to the lyrics because she is married to a Registered Sex Offender.
Kenneth Petty is a registered sex offender, he was convicted of first-degree attempted rape of a 16 year old girl in 1995.
Despite his past Nicki Minaj chose to marry Petty and took the commitment a step forward by having a child with him.
His criminal records seem of no concern to Nicki because she even went as far as defending him in Instagram comments about his conviction.
“He was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf, internet, y’all cant run my life. Y’all cant even run your own life.”
This statement was extremely insensitive since she acts like SA can’t happen within relationships, statistics show differently.
It is not a shock that she supports her husbands because he is not the only sex offender that she has supported.
Her brother, Jelani Maraj, is facing 25 years to life for child rape charges.
Hopefully with Nicki being in the spotlight her actions and support for sex offenders is brought to light..
She has been in the industry since she was in her 20’s and she’s now 40 with a child and she needs to focus her time on something other than drama with 20-30 year old women.
In response to the Megan’s Law dig, Nicki released a track called “Bigfoot” where she made fun of Megan for getting shot in the foot by Tory Lanez.
She also threatened that she has multiple other tracks that would come after “Bigfoot” that would apparently hurt Megan’s career.
Megan has not publicly responded to anything Nicki has said, its probably because she has already won this fight.
As someone who is not a huge fan of Megan’s music, it’s not hard to choose who to defend in the current situation.
So many fans of artists using the saying “Separate the art from the artist.” This just normalizes the bad things that one has done and gives fans reason to not feel guilty about supporting such bad people.
Lets stop separating the art from the artist and start holding people accountable.
A lot of people all over social media are taking Megan Thee Stallions side but there are a hand full of fans who will never cancel Nicki.
Sometimes cancel culture is valid and this is a situation where it is.
My apologies to all of the barbz reading this but in honor of the new year, Nicki Minaj is out and Megan is in.
