Global Village has returned to cerritos college and this event brings out the excitement and amassment for what they see.
Booths set up by clubs featured different types of food to showcase the different cultures represented during Global Village, sponsored by the International Students Association on Wednesday April 24.
The Anime Club featured a Kendo instruction at its booth, that was representing a Japanese culture, the instructor was psychology major German Sanchez.
ESL teacher Nancy Spradlin thought the event was a great idea “I brought my students here today to see all the different clubs and activities on campus, I think they set a great example especially of how to unify the world.”
Biology major Kelly Diaz thought more could have been done with the event, “I think it could have been a lot bigger, I wish more clubs got involved I definitely wanted to see more countries out here.”
English major Josh Craft thought Global Village was a good event for students. “It’s helpful to other students because i think in our everyday lives in general but even on campus we tend to neglect the rich things other cultures and countries have to offer.”
Craft also commented “Hopefully it will most of the tables seem to be quite substantial of job representing the value and worth of other cultures.”
Computer animation major Katrine Osorio was in agreement that Global Village was successful “I think it’s really good it’s really informative and it’s good with getting people together, you learn a lot from other clubs and you become interested in those clubs.”
“Especially since Cerritos is such a diverse community it’s good to have this event.” she added.
