A day after getting shellacked, the Cerritos College baseball team was back on the field Wednesday, getting back on track, defeating Cerro Coso College, 7-4 at Kincaid Field.
Despite five errors, Cerritos College walked away with its third win in four games.
It was aided by starting pitcher Jared Robinson (1-1), who in 5.0 innings pitched, allowing four unearned runs on four hits, walked two, and struck out eight batters en route to his first victory of the season.
The go-ahead hit came courtesy of first baseman Zach Diaz, who in the fifth inning connected on one of his three hits of the afternoon for an RBI-single, lifting Cerritos College on top for good.
The two teams will meet again in Ridgecrest, Calif. Thursday at 6 p.m.
