There will be a survey for students in the library regarding the use of MySpace, Jason Macias, commissioner of information technology, said during Monday’s ASCC Cabinet meeting.
The student survey flyers have been placed in the library as well as in the computer lab.
The survey is designed so that students can voice how important it is to be able to use MySpace at school.
The social Web site has been the cause of controversy for some time as discussions have revolved around blocking the site on the school’s firewall and has already been banned in the lab and library.
Among the questions asked are, “How much time do you spend on MySpace?” and “How valuable is MySpace?”
The survey is in response to students who continue to violate the ban on MySpace and some rising complaints from students that feel the violators are taking away valuable computer time.
The survey can be accessed at surveymonkey.com.
Macias could not be reached for comment.
