ASCC Vice President Alex Armendariz announced on Wednesday during the ASCC Senate meeting that he, Campus Police Chief Richard Bukowiecki and former commissioner of external affairs Gredma Casasola did a night walk of the campus on Tuesday.

During the walk throughout the campus Armendariz said that Bukowiecki took note of areas such as the amphitheatre as well as a walkway between the Cosmetology Department and the park lot were poorly lit.

“Bukowiecki took note as well as pictures of those area that need better lighting,” he said. In addition, Armendariz said that the lights above all the pay phones on campus are not working.

The walkthrough was in response to sexual assaults that occurred on campus last years and for Armendariz said that the area with less light such as the amphitheatre, “I could just be standing there and someone could attack me from behind.”

Neither Casasola nor Bukowiecki could be reached for comment.
