In light of the aftermath of the incident of the armed man on campus, police have increased security for the production of Romeo & Juliet.
Uniformed police officers are stationed backstage, and will remain throughout the entire run of the production. The production has had police presence for all rehearsals as well.
The police presence began on April 22.
The show opened for a preview performance on April 26, and no problems were reported.
During the preview performance, campus police remained stationed at the backstage area, green room, and dressing room areas.
The show officially opens tonight, Friday, April 27 to the public. Campus police will be securing the production beginning before the cast is expected to show up for its call time of 6 p.m. and will remain until the production concludes each night.
