The Cerritos College baseball team saw it’s loosing streak go up to 5 as the Falcons on Feb. 13 lost a road game against Golden West College, 5-6.
With the loss, the Falcons are at a record of 2 wins and 5 losses on the season.
The Falcons took a 5-0 lead in the third inning with help from right hand pitcher Daniel Renteria and catcher Sergio Barboza.
Renteria had three of the Falcons seven hits including his RBI triple in the third inning.
Barboza added a two run double .
Golden West countered back with two runs in the fourth and four runs in the fifth.
The Falcons continued to show their woes hitting with runners on base by stranding 12 men on base.
Anthony Nunes started the game for the Falcons and didn’t factor in this one by getting the no decision.
Instead, it was freshman Geoff Bill who suffered the loss and Jason Deitrich recorded the win for Golden West while Rustler freshman Dylan Mitchell got the save.
The Falcons will next play Los Angeles Valley College on Feb. 23 at Kincaid Field.
