Rally up your dancers as the Dance Department prepares themselves for another dance show, the Spring Dance Concert.
This semester’s dance show will consist of many different styles of dancing from ballet all the way to the sexy style of salsa.
Many dance instructors are having a hard time with their choreography due to the students’ lack of attendance to rehearsals.
Instructor Liz Casebolt said she prepares her students by “preparing them on what to expect from the audience and also by weekly rehearsals.”
She said, “My students will be well prepared for anything,”
Many of the dancers that are participating in this dance show have preformed in last semester’s show.
Diana Gonzales, one of the returning dancers, stated, “Every concert is a new experience and I’m excited to see the audience’s reaction to the different dance pieces.”
Some dance students are in more than one dance piece.
Many say it’s hard work balancing the rehearsal times and also making adjustments to their scheduling to fit rehearsals in.
On the other hand, some students have no worries and just want to enjoy another experience of the dance life, such as ballet student Chemere Hunter.
Hunter said, “I’m not nervous as I was last semester I’m very excited.”
The Dance Department has just a few more weeks until showtime, Cerritos dancers will be able to continue the legacy of an outstanding dance show.
