The scholarship workshop held on Feb. 2 assisted students for students seeking help in understanding the scholarship application process.
The workshop touched on subjects of personal statements, essays and searching for scholarship resources.
One of the goals of the workshop is to assist students who are applying for scholarships reach the deadline to submit necessary documents and paperwork.
The workshop offers helpful insight on the scholarship process.
Financial Aid technician Veronica Castro gave tips on reading applications carefully and making sure students understand all of the requirements that are asked for in a scholarship.
Nursing major Laura Moreno commented on how the workshop assisted her, saying.
“The workshop helped me a lot because I was lost but now I have the guidance to go through the process,” she said.
Veronica also offered help with spelling, grammar and all areas involved in a personal statement.
The workshop also gives student advice toward writing neatly on essays and personal statements.
The workshops purpose is to help students who need money for school to apply for scholarships.
Castro said,”My goal is to educate students on the scholarship process, give them confidence and the drive to continue applying for scholarships.”
The next scholarship workshop will be held in March 20 in Room: BE 3 starting at 5 P.M and ending at 6 P.M.
