With only five hits compared to the Mounties’ 15 hits, Cerritos College softball team lost against Mt. San Antonio College 8-1 on Jan. 28 at the Nancy Kelly Field.
Mt. SAC scored two runs early in the top of the inning against Cerritos.
The Falcons only managed one run in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Falcons head coach Kodee Murray said about the game, “We didn’t get any hits and we didn’t score enough runs. We just couldn’t respond against Mt. SAC.”
Falcons catcher Julie Mendoza expressed her frustration, saying, “We should have come out more aggressive on offense and on defense we did all right.”
The winning pitcher for the Gauchos was Destiny Davalos and the losing pitcher for the Falcons was Lily Cornejo.
The Falcons’ upcoming game will be against Fullerton College on Feb. 7 at 3 p.m.
