The financial aid department will be holding a workshop intended to teach students how to apply for scholarships on Feb. 2. from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. in room SS 139.
The workshop covers what is needed to obtain a scholarship as well as teaching how to request letters of recommendation, obtaining transcripts, financial statements, writing essays, etc.
Financial aid technician, Veronica Castro talked about what happens during the workshop, saying,”We present a powerpoint presentation on what donors want to see in scholarship applications and prepare the students on what they’re going to be asked.”
Castro also explained when the workshops will be available, saying,”We do two workshops a semester. One is going to be on Feb. 2, 2 p.m.-3 p.m. and another on March 20. 5 p.m.-6 p.m.”
