A community college task force that has been assembled by the California Community Colleges Board of Governors has released and amended a list of recommendations to refocus the community colleges of the state toward student success.
Eight chapters worth of recommendations were drafted by the Student Success Task Force that suggest ideas on what to do to ensure community college students are succeeding toward their academic goals.
Cerritos College Dean of Academic Affairs and Institutional Effectiveness Bryan Reece believes the college is headed in the right direction in meeting these recommendations.
“Frankly, we’re ahead of the curve when it comes to student success and we’re already focusing on a lot of the issues they have placed at the state level,” Reece said, “I think it’s just going to add momentum to what we’re doing.”
California Watch released a report on Dec. 2 displaying various amendments that were made to the recommendations that can be found here.
