On Nov. 15, alumni students who have transferred to art schools and universities shared their experiences and discussed the preparation needed for transferring in an art alumni lecture.
The lecture was sponsored by the Artist’s Society.

The Triathlon Club hosted its first soccer tournament on Nov. 18.
The tournament was open to all campus clubs and independent student teams consisting of six players and three alternates.
Despite the gloomy weather there was a good turnout of over 20 people participating.

On their last game of the season, The Cerritos College women’s Volleyball team defeated L..A. Harbor in three straights sets on ‘Sophomore Night’ played at Gahr High school.

A survey done by Assistant Commissioner of Student Services Evan Thierry showed how involved students are on campus.
Some of the result included that 11 percent of students did not go to the homecoming game, 79 percent knew that there is a student government, and 13 percent did not attend the Job Fair on Nov. 9.
This survey was taken by 178 students out of over 23,000 students on campus were surveyed.
This is not even 1 percent of the college.

The Burnight Center Theatre was invaded by auditioning students hoping to be part of the spring 2012 play The Rimers of Eldritch on Wednesday.
The play is directed by Janet Miller and the performance dates are from March 2 to March 11 of next year.

Cerritos College is now accepting applications for the ‘Intensive English Program’ for Spring 2012 in an effort to help international, non-english speaking students acquire the reading and writing skills necessary to continue studying in their major field of study.

The Muslim Students Association hosted guest speaker Adel Syed, government relations coordinator of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) for a presentation called “Muslims in America, Liberty and Justice for All.” on Nov. 16.
The presentation was to help Cerritos College students be aware of the social problems that modern day Muslims are facing in America.

The Cerritos College women’s basketball team (4-2) won two out of its three games at the Santa Barbara Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
The Falcons lost to Grossmont College 56-53 on Thursday.

The Cerritos College Active Minds Club hosted a Suicide Awareness Week event, which took place in the Falcon Square from 11:30-1:00 p.m. on Nov. 10.
The event provided information to Cerritos College students regarding suicide.
