The Cerritos College volleyball team defeated the East Los Angeles College Huskies in three straight sets, 25-17, 25-13, 25-17.
“Our goal for this game was to beat them in three straight sets,” Falcons outside hitter Aundrea Stovall said.
The Falcons allowed a late rally in the first set by the Huskies after they called timeout being down 9-4.
As both teams exchanged leads and at one point being tied 17-17, the Falcons dominated the rest of the set, picking up eight unanswered points to win the first set 25-17.
In the second set, the Falcons took an early 8-1 lead before the Huskies would get their second point off a bad serve by Lupe Garcia.
After almost letting the Huskies begin another rally, the Falcons put them away quickly, ending the set, 25-13.
The Huskies went point for point with the Falcons in the third set, before the Falcons took control to win the set (25-17) and the game.
