During the month of October, the women’s volleyball team will take part in The Side-Out Foundation’s National Dig Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Rally.
Proceeds will benefit Breast Cancer research and unspecified cancer support organizations.
Starting against Long Beach City College, fans and supporters will be asked to attend home volleyball games at Gahr High School wearing pink attire.
Upon arriving at the door, those attending will be asked to make a donation, while a 50/50 raffles will also be available during the matches, where 50 percent of donations will go to the winner, while the rest will go to The Side-Out Foundation.
Donations will be available online
Shirts for the event can be purchased from the volleyball team’s Head Coach Teresa Velazquez-Ortega that read, “Fight Like A Girl,” or Volley For The Cure.”
