Alanis Morissette, who first burst on the music scene in 1999 with her album “Jagged Little Pill,” returns with a re-recorded version of Seal’s 1991’s song, “Crazy.”
For her version Morissette updates the song with a great sense of sound and brings it into 2005.
Her voice has not sounded so clear since her first album.
My first impression of the song was “Wow, how cool is this!”
I knew right away what song it was when the first chord was played on the electric guitar.
In addition, Morissette does a great job understanding the message of the song, which is, that people have feelings too and don’t ignore them.
Morissette does her part to hit the notes as the song progressed.
I was very pleased.
Morissette’s last album 2005’s “Jagged Little Pill: Acoustic” was not a big seller due to the CD being sold at Starbucks Coffee.
I had the thought that Morissette had followed the step of her former Maverick boss Madonna.
“But we’re never gonna surive unless/we get a little crazy.”
It continues with, “Crazy people walking through my head/ One of thems got a gun to shoot the other one” are my favorite lines from the song.
It brings out the message of love for a person who is looking for it.
I would hope that Seal (Seal Henry Samuel) would be very pleased with the song he performed on his first album, “Seal.”
Nice job, Alanis.
