The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed “Bioshock, ” “Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams Union” is set to be released on Nov. 3, although that date is tentative.
The first installment of the game, which appeared to be nothing more than just a first person shooting game, quickly turned heads and made its mark as a force to be reckoned with in the world of gaming going multiplatinum and winning awards.
In this first person shooter, you are once again free to explore this underwater world that is set before the fall of the rapture.
However, this game introduces a new multiplayer feature, which was in high demand from the gaming world.
In this installment, you also get to play as the character, “Big Daddy.”
In the game, you can select to either harvest or adopt “little sisters” who have also received an overhaul, to make them appear more lifelike.
2K Games also pushes the boundaries of the typical sequel. In fact, it even pushes the boundaries of a prequel.
As you toggle from single player to multiplayer mode, you also toggle between before and after the fall of the rapture, making this one of the few games that can be played as a prequel and sequel.
It is still unclear exactly how they plan to do this, but it is said that you would be playing the same levels just in different states.
The multiplayer aspect of the game was handled by Digital Extremes, the same company that did “Dark Sector” and the “Unreal Tournament” games, which are acclaimed for there multiplayer modes. So this should definitely be a strong point in the game.
If you are a fan of the original, you are sure to like this 2K release and if you have yet to play the original, you still have time before “Bioshock 2: Dreams of the Union” hits the shelves.
