The land United States of America has seen many facets of itself within it’s people throughout its existence, starting with origins of the Native American People.
But who is trully native when everybody seems to have migrated here from all parts of the world?
We have legend over recorded history that would point out immigration as a starting point for all peoples in this land.
One of the stronger theories of the orgins of Native American in a quest to maintain food supplies people is a mass migration over the Bering Strait stemming from early asians during the last ice age era.
These nomadic tribes came to settle throughout all of the North and South American continents.
It is almost unfathomable that nobody occupied this area before the ancient hunters came and established their homes here.
Another school of thought is that the continents of this hemosphere were populated by island hopping bands of people from Asia to North America via Hawaii as a halfway point between the two lands.
There was a time when the Hawaiian islands were free from humans.
The native Hawaiians were part of an ancient migration.
It would be thousands of years later until the Nina, La Pinta and La Santa Maria reached this continent and 200 years later, Plymouth Rock makes it’s way into history with the landing of the Mayflower Pilgrims.
History tells us of their spiritual migration from oppresive lands to a new world full of promise of prosperity as well as the security to worship God according to ones own creed and beliefs.
These ships carried the ancestry of people who these days point at others and say ‘illegal.’
But this land was not an empty canvas with a welcome mat and beautiful natives adorning newcomers with flowered necklaces.
It had inhabitance placed here who also had the promise of existence, too.
The tribe of the Nauset people, frustrated with foriengers, initially ran away when aproached by the colonists and actually shot arrows at the pilgrims soon after first contanct.
The hostilities were in part because of the tabboo by the pilgrims of unearthing burrial grounds and gathering for themselves the provisions left for the dead.
The colonists returned fire and chased the natives into the woods not to be seen again for several months. A more violent display of the deviding events unfolding now between ‘natives’ and ‘aliens.’
With the inroduction of the European community into the American Continents, Native American tribes did battle with every colonizing country.
Wars agains the France, Russia, Spain, Great Britton, Canada, United States and Mexico are part of our recorded history. Its easy to see the decendents of all these people acting quite the same today.
The animosity towards immigrants in this land or any land on the planet by ‘Native’ people is nothing new.
Hatred and intolerence for aliens or strangers transends eras, tribes, people and lands. Borders exist first in the eyes and hearts of all of mankind.
And was not justifiable then, its still unjustifiable now.
No. Not the economy, not past animosities, and definitely not the argument of who is native to this land, can be argued by anybody.
And this tragic comedy of humanity is alive and well and continues to this very day.
In a reversal of fortunes, aliens, that is to say people who’s liniage stems from those who crossed the Bering Strait and are not born from European immagrants, are now being blamed for the maladies of the finatial hardships happening in different states.
New laws are being established to do away with undesirables in the hopes of a return of a perfect world full of milk and honey and nobody that would blur or blemish that unrealistic vision.
But the difference between modern man and default humanity is the ability to disagree with ones own passions when applied with thought.
The instability of fortune by the controlling powers has trained the eye of discontent on those who are less defensless than those who actually caused the semi-collapse of our economy.
Staggering numbers of lost wealth due to ‘illegal’ occupation of people in this country has been presented by angry mobs that seem to have lost their consideration for the well being and brotherhood of their fellow man, as well as the acknowledgement of their own alien family history.
But nobody has calculated the billions saved over time with not paying an honest union wage for agricultural labor needed for the harvesting of our food.
It’s like a bad fight at a family event. Instead of our kin folk being there for eachother, they’re angrily getting in their cars and driving away. And the family grudge will last for years, despite the history together, the blood between them and the better times of the past.
But this country has established it’s creed and it’s mission. It has put forth unto itself an effort like no other ever on this planet.
The most truest part of our United States of America is it’s antitheses nature of doctrines from other nations.
Fairness, liberty and equality for all of mankind, even in our darkest hours.
Emma Lazarus said it best with her beautiful sonnet donated by her as a fundraising effort to build a pedestal for our Stautue of Liberty;
The New Colossus
Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,
With conquering limbs astride from land to land;
Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates shall stand
A mighty woman with a torch, whose flame
Is the imprisoned lightning, and her name
Mother of Exiles. From her beacon-hand
Glows world-wide welcome; her mild eyes command
The air-bridged harbor that twin cities frame.
“Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!” cries she
With silent lips. “Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door!”
This is our America. The Mother of Exiles.
Giving rights and justice to those born from a different land.
A land that loves the alien because it knows no other people. All have come to her in need.
Those born here desend from those born elsewhere.
Everybody that speaks out against ‘aliens’ does so at the expense of their immigrant past. The face of the nation is constantly changing.
Time and humanity stands still for no one. Happy humanity, everybody.
