A theatrical classic is set to make its way back…to the big screen.
After 25 years, “Back to the Future” will be re-released in theatres, featuring a complete digital remastering of the classic film.
The film’s re-release is due to the release of a much-anticipated 25th anniversary Blu-ray set of the movie.
However, an event such as this has a limited engagement. The movie will only be shown on two dates, Oct. 23 at 12:30 p.m. and Oct. 25 at 7 p.m. and it will only be shown in AMC Theatres across the United States.
Another event that is taking place for the film’s anniversary is an event entitled, “We’re Going Back.”
The event, which is scheduled for Nov. 5, is set to feature several attractions, such as a live-action recreation of the initial time-travel scene from the first movie, a commemorative plaque dedication and even a special appearance of the original DeLorean time machine for fans to see.
According to the event’s website, all proceeds of the event will go to Team Fox for Parkinson’s Research, the foundation belonging to “Back to the Future” star Michael J. Fox, who has been affected with the disease.
“Back to the Future” has already been re-released in the United Kingdom, earning “more than $730,000 on 277 digital screens, landing the timeless classic seventh among all cinematic releases this past weekend,” according to BTTF.com, the film’s official website.
All guests who buy a ticket will receive a free poster commemorating the movie’s re-release.
