Anthony Recinos caught the game winning touchdown pass in a triple overtime game as the Cerritos College football team defeated the No. 1 team in the nation, Mt. SAC, 44-38, Saturday night.
The tight end said, “I saw the corner come in to stop the run and I knew I had the touchdown.”
With the victory the Falcons are 7-2 with another tough team in front of them in El Camino.
El Camino is ranked No. 2 in Southern California and nearly beat the Mounties last week.
“El Camino will be tough, it is as good as Mt. SAC,” head coach Frank Mazzotta said..
In the final seconds of the regulation, Mt. SAC had a chance to win the game when kicker Jacob Harfman stepped on to field to attempt a 19-yard field goal.
The kick was no good and that sent the game into overtime.
“He is one of the best kickers I have ever seen,” Mazzotta said. “I was surprised he missed it.”
