If the name Natasha Bedingfield doesn’t not sound familiar then maybe you know her sibling, “I Gotta Get Through This” singer Daniel Bedingfield.
Her brother made a name for himself and now, it’s Natasha turn as she has ventures out into her know with the song, “If You’re Gonna Jump” from the world famous British DJ Paul Oakenfold’s album, The Club (Thrive Records).
This song, which is also on Bedingfield’s current album Unwritten (Sony Records) is a heart pounding dance track with a great deal of help from Oakenfold; in other words, it doesn’t hurt to share studio space with someone.
For her part, Bedingfield wrote the song to inspire anyone going through a relationship; to meet half way.
“If you’re gonna jump/than jump far/fly like a skydiver,” sings the 25-year-old New Zealand born, English raised singer.
Furthermore, lyrics such as “If you’re gonna hit the high notes/you better be a team player.”
In hearing this I thought, “Right on, sister!”
She hits the nail on the head as to why relationship fail and the reason is because not because of the excuses,”‘it you, not me’ but its ‘I’m not interested in you.'”
In addition, for his part Oakenfold hypnotizes the underground club sound in the helm of the turntables and additional keyboard synthesizers.
I had not heard of Bedingfield before this track was played on my CD player and from the sounds (not looks) of things I was bobbing my head to the seductive sound of Bedingfield’s voice.
She could actually give Mariah Carey competition as to which singer could sing the highest note on a music sheet.
Look out America, another Bedingfield is looking to impress you.
