For students who have not heard, the ASCC office, located next to the bookstore, is currently selling movie tickets.
The tickets range from $6.00-6.50 each, and students can pick them up from Nikki Jones on Monday through Thursday from 8:30a.m.-3:30p.m. and Fridays from 8:30a.m.-2:30p.m.
“A lot of students don’t know we sell them until they come in here and ask me a question, and then they see the sign,” says Jones.
The tickets available as of right now are for AMC and Pacific theaters.
Tickets for Regal and Edwards theaters will be available within three weeks.
As of January 11, the Regal/Edwards ticket prices increased to $6.50 each, however the AMC and Pacific theatres will remain $6.00 each.
Students are really excited about not having to wait in line to pay a large amount of money to buy tickets. ASCC President Felipe Grimaldo has bought tickets before and has had a very good experience.
“Buying the tickets was really helpful cause we do get the student discount. its even better and a convienence cause we can get them here at ASCC and we dont have to worry about standing in line.”
Areal Hughes, Deaf Interpretation major, also enjoys buying tickets from ASCC.
“I got mine from Nikki Jones and when I got there I was like how do I use this, I’ve never used this before. To be completely honest it was pretty awesome, so I like the movie tickets and I would definitely buy it again. I would reccomend everybody to buy movie tickets trust me they’re a good investment.”
Undecided major C.J Altamirano also likes to purchase the tickets at school. “I think it’s an awesome idea, I buy tickets all the time. It is a really good deal cause its only $6.00-6.50, and it saves me 4 dollars at the movie theatre. I think anyone who buys movie tickets should buy them at Cerritos College.”
Rodney Lozano, automotive major, and Nestor Portocarrero a foreign language major have not yet purchased tickets but still like the idea that the option is available. “I think it’s awesome that you can buy tickets whenever you want to buy them,” Lozano said.
