Excuse me.
I don’t mean to be rude but have you wondered why all the “straight A” students have the attention of school administrators or have been on the Dean’s list?
Being an average student who has, admittedly, received Bs and Cs on her transcripts, I have wondered that myself.
In addition, I have wondered if those who are “straight A” students have left an everlasting impression on, not only faculty, but administrators as well.
Why don’t those who have gotten Bs and Cs get awards’ ceremonies for their improvement in their grades?
Shouldn’t they be on the Dean’s List for “Most Improved Student?”
I think that it is unfair that those who have worked hard to improve their grades and study hard don’t get the recognition they deserve.
Let me tell you what happened when I first arrived at Cerritos College in the Fall of 1998.
I admit that when I was taking classes, I thought studying was not important.
The only thing that I did was disappoint myself and my parents.
So what did I do? I left school.
I returned in the Spring of 2003 and I retook all the classes that I dropped, and had hoped that I would get recognition for the improvement from the Ds and Fs to Bs and Cs.
As it stands right now my GPA is just over 2.0, but I am trying to improve in that area of my education.
I am sure that there are students who receive Bs and Cs on their transcripts, who asked, “What about some recognition for me?”
I think that if those continuing students who are average don’t have recognition for the improvement in their education, they should walk out of class one day.
All I’m saying is that every student should be sharing the spotlight with those students who study hard and who want to complete their education.
