Cousins cornerback LeQuan Lewis and defensive end Ryan Davis, along with teammate defensive tackle Johnny Tivao, led the Cerritos College football team with signings to PAC-10 schools.
Lewis will be playing for Arizona State, Davis for Cal and Tivao for Washington.
The defensive unit will become conference rivals next season and the competition between the two cousins already began.
“I already started trash talking to (Lewis)” Davis said jokingly.
Davis and Lewis both attended Artesia High School where they both earned All-Suburban League honors.
Davis is already making pre-season predictions.
“I think we’ll go 2-0 against Washington and Arizona State,” Davis laughed.
Davis will transfer to Cal as outside linebacker under the direction of former Cerritos quarterback Jeff Tedford.
Tivao has other things on his mind in this upcoming season with the Huskies.
Tivao will look to make an impact under new head coach Steve Sarkisian who formely coached at Mt. SAC and USC.
The Huskies finished their 2008 season as the only winless team in the nation.
Arizona State will be taking in a versatile cornerback in Lewis.
Lewis led the Falcons in interceptions with three which one was returned for a touchdown.
