Financial literacy workshop held at Cerritos College in LC 155 with the partnership of the California Society of Certified Public Accounts (CalCPA). David Lo, Senior Manager at the California Society of CPAs, will provide guidance on personal budgeting, investment management, and credit management. As college students, we all need a little guidance on how to we want to manage our money because we don't want to end up more broke than we already are. Journal writing nurtures your mental wellbeing while expressing yourself. Get your creativity on by crafting your personalized journal. The workshop also provides tips for starting a journaling practice and offers a refresher about how journaling can benefit your mental wellbeing. Participation is strongly encouraged but personal disclosure is not required. No experience is necessary.

On Wednesday, April 30, 2025, from 10 am – 11:30 am, the Black/Africana Studies Department will host an event titled "Pursuing Black Studies at Four-Year Universities: Conversations on the Relevance, Programs, and Opportunities."
During this in-person and Zoom event, students will hear from Dr. Maulana Karenga, Professor and Chair of the Department of Africana Studies at CSU Long Beach, and Dr. Nana Lawson Bush, Professor and Chair of the Department of Pan-African Studies at CSU Los Angeles. As distinguished scholars in the discipline, they will discuss the relevance of the discipline, department program requirements, and career and other opportunities for further development. Students will also hear from Africana Studies Department faculty from CSU Dominguez Hills, as well as alumni of the Africology and African American Studies Department at Temple University.
This event will occur in LA 103 (Liberal Arts Building) and via Zoom from 10 am — 11:30 am. We hope to see you in person; however, if you plan to attend this event via Zoom, please register in advance using the following link:

The Static Experience is a combination of experiences. One of a kickback experience including food, art and music, ending with the experience of a short film screening of STATIC and panel discussion with the director and actors of the film. Starting at 5 p.m. in front of the PAC. Joined by clubs and organizations on campus it will be a night of fun, but also of reflection on this experience we call "life". Join us for a fun night filled with friends, food, music and art. Friday, May 2 at 5 p.m. for the Kickback and 7 p.m. for the screening. RSVP to reserve your spot!
