Three members of the Cerritos College baseball team gained 1st team All-South Coast Conference honors while head Coach Ken Gaylord was voted the conference’s coach of the year.
Sophomore Tim Soonthorngarun was named to the first team for the second consecutive season, while starting pitcher and third basemen Christian Rodriguez and outfielder Hector Gomez earned the honor for the first time.
The Falcons also had four players who gained second team all-conference honors.
Those players were, pitchers Nick Quezada, Kevin Hendrix and Cesar Chavez, along with outfielder Bubby Rossman.
The SCC also chose an All-Defensive team for the first time in conference history, with two Cerritos players being chosen, Soonthorngarun and Gomez.
The team advanced to the Super Regionals after sweeping Cuesta College on Friday and Saturday.
The Super Regional is a four-team double-elimination tournament.
The Falcons will travel to Santa Ana College to take on the Dons on Friday.
