The Cerritos College Dance Department held the Choreographer Showcase on Tuesday, Hosted and put together by dance instructor Maha Afra.

The event scheduled 32 different performances.                                                                                                                                    

The showcase, let students take part in dance performances put together by their fellow students and perform then in the Student Center.

One student who choreographed his own piece for the first time “formally” was Broderick Woods.

” Basically my piece was made up from three different dances. Slow dance, machata and hip-hop,” Woods said.                                                                                                                         

Another student who choreographed his own piece to Lady Gaga’s ‘Born this way’ was Daniel Schaper.

”  It was my idea to have this battle between good and evil, or ‘yin and yang’. I thought it came out great,” Schaper said.
