A haunting Halloween maze will be rising from the concrete of Cerritos College. The Theater Art Society is having its first Halloween maze on Oct. 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The event will be taking place in the fine arts quad by the Cerritos Art Gallery, set up begins at noon.
“It was just a thought and I was glad that Cerritos College, or at least the people around here are excepting new ideas trying to get the students involved,” Steven Lomeli, photography major and president of the theater art society said.
The maze’s theme will be clowns.
“A lot of people are afraid of are clowns,” he said.
Lomeli also said, “you never pick anything that is mildly scary, you pick into people’s fears in which actually will make them go and make [students] face them.”
Clubs collaborating with the Theater Artist Society are the Child Development Club and the Amine Club. They will be in charge of booths and fund raisers.
“Other than having events that the school already has, as in dance concerts or the plays, I thought that theater club could have its own event so people can know the club exist.”
Admission is two dollars and there is an age limit will be enforced due to gory scenes. The event will be open to all students and the neighborhood community.
Volunteers to be monsters or do make up are welcomed.
For those interested, call Steven Lomeli at (562) 567-1098 to do make up.
