Cerritos College’s Cinematic Arts Club has returned to campus during the 2011 fall semester.
The Cinematic Arts Club President Richard Carlos commented on the goals of the club, saying,“One of our missions is to create awareness that there is a film program at Cerritos and to show case the talent of many of the film students” Carlos said.
The CAC aspires for professionalism throughout their productions.
To name a few, each project had a producer, casting director, cinematographer, art director, sound technician, and editor.
One of the films produced is entitled “Change of Music” which is written and directed by film student Nick Perkovic.
Perkovic believes his production of “Change of Music” went from an amateur student film to a more professional looking film thanks to the Cinematic Arts Club and its members.
“I feel good about it, CAC gave me the opportunity to take a professional approach towards filmmaking which was great” Perkovic said.
When asked how he thinks his production of “Change of Music” went “I had the help I needed in which I thank the CAC for that and thank my casting director as well” Perkovic said.
One of the goals of CAC is to promote cinematography as a whole and to provide a welcoming environment for film students and other Cerritos College students to share their knowledge on the art.
The Cinematic Arts Club welcomes any student interested in cinematography or any other aspect of cinematography to join and develop their skills.
The CAC meets bi-monthly from 5:45 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in BC-47
