Cerritos College’s transfer ration has maintained a questionably low level into Cal State Fullerton as well as Cal State Long Beach. The reasons these numbers are so low are due to steps taken by city governments to improve the number of local students to the disadvantage of students applying from Cerritos College. Staff writer Rodrigo Nunes reporting;

This weeks ‘Free Speech Zone’ focuses on the freedom of speech through the clothes students wear on campus. The question posed to students by staff writer Israel Arzate is; ‘Do you think there should be a dress code here at Cerritos College?

With plenty of animalistic behavior by average students here at Cerritos College, the prospect of bringing a pet to class might seem innocent enough, but our feathered and four-legged friends are not completely welcome here on campus. Staff writer John Gonzalez levels his point of view on this weeks ‘Campus News Hour’ opinion; Should pets be allowed on campus?

Our featured student here on Talon Mark’s ‘Campus News Hour’ is BMX enthusiast Jamie Bonthius. His skills have landed him on television commercials and a growing notoriety. Online and Managing Editor Lucia Sarabia delves deep into the mind of this unique athlete.

The newest art exhibition titled ‘Immanence Envisaged’ is wowing art enthusiasts at the Cerritos College Art Gallery. Students and the general public are invited to view the work from local and international artists. Staff writer Martin Calderon comes face to face at Facial Experssionism.

With the exhuming of classic animated films and slathering them with a three-dimensional polish and filling the air with fanfair, Talon Mark’s News Editor Enrique Rivera takes a 2D look at the overall worth of this bombardment of special effects and hype.

Cerritos College students have taken steps toward successfully balancing family life and their scholastic careers by attending a valuable workshop with information on accomplishing both facets of life. Staff writer Juan Lopez reports.

This weeks Talon Mark’s ‘Campus News Hour’ Album Review sets its sights on Los Angeles legendary rockers ‘Van Halen.’ Their latest efforts are under intense scrutiny of fans and unloving critics alike. Editor in Chief Vic Diaz passes judgment on takes his side on this latest work from these sonic worriers.

The idea of possibly allowing students to carry concealed weapons on campus in order to assure their own safety has been brought forth to the student body. Staff writer Mario Jimenez gives this weeks ‘Campus News Hour’ opinion on this explosive issue.

This weeks Talon Mark’s ‘Campus News Hour’ brings attention to the new legislation passed forth to curve the illegal selling of student notes to websites catering to would-be students that do not attend class and still make the grade.
