Have you ever been shopping and seen a shirt with a clever slogan you wish you made? Well now thanks to t-shirt company “Lost Propertee,” anyone can submit a slogan to have a chance to be on a shirt and get royalties.
This new business venture by Steven Coe, creator of the famous rock and roll fashion line “Worn Free,” is not only about resurrecting rare vintage shirts, but giving the consumer a chance to come up with their own.
“T-shirts are such a good space in terms of freedom of ideas,” Coe states, “It’s a pretty simple thing to make, but it has a lot of impact.”
If an entry is selected, the author not only gets a free shirt of their original idea, but a choice between a five percent royalty transferred into a PayPal account for each shirt sold, or Lost Propertee dollars which are worth twice as much and can be used to buy shirts online.
When asked their thoughts on Coe’s new business, Music major Brian Lopez expressed excitement stating, “More businesses need to do this, it gives the average person a chance to create something awesome.”
Lost Propertee is on the rise with several celebrities sporting shirts such as Parker Posey, Robbie Williams and Keira Knightley.
With a group of five designers, Coe and his team scower the globe looking for that perfect shirt that has not been made yet. “The sillier the better,” Coe states.
