Students across campus find that the economic crisis to be hitting them in different ways because they are struggling to pay for classes and to pay for food.
College students spend their money on tuition and books and are left with little money after the first week of school.
Paralegal major Sandra Mayoral finds the food at the food court to be expensive because she watches her money carefully.
“I think the food is expensive,” Mayoral said. “I spend about $20 on food each week.”
Mayoral decided to bring her own food to school to cut back on her food expenses and save money.
Eunice Park, cashier at Chicago Harv’s, said, “I think the food is kind of expensive but that’s my boss’s orders.”
However, Steller Cho, cashier at Oh! No! Tokyo, thinks that the price at the restaurant she works at has reasonable prices, even with the economic status we have been facing.
“I think it’s the right price because it takes time to prepare the sushi rolls,” Cho said, “so it’s right.”
