With the weather temperatures scorching us at over 100 degrees, that didn’t stop the fans from dancing their tails off to the music of Malo.
It was Aug. 29 at the Santa Fe Springs Swap Meet at noon and 3:30 p.m.
At 11:41 a.m., just 19 minutes to showtime and the crowd was ready to shake, rattle and role as well as the sound check was ready and in full affect.
Malo is Latin rock band whom have been together for 37 years now.
Its song “Sauvecito” was its biggest hit back in April, 1972.
The song reached No. 18 on the Billboard charts.
It also has 10 albums to its credit and continue to tour.
Those going to be in the bay area in a couple weeks, make sure to check out the Street Low Car Show in Antioch on Sept. 13.
They band will be in Laughlin, Nev. at the Tropicana Hotel on Oct. 2 and 3 and then back up to the bay area Oct. 4 for a performance at Golden Gate Park.
12:07 p.m., a guitarist by the name of Jorge Santana (brother of Carlos Santana) takes the stage in a solo that flows into Malo’s first song.
It wasn’t just any first song, but a non-lyrical jam that lasted until 12:20 p.m.
When you have 12 band members (two vocals, two guitarists, one drummer, three others on bongos and congas, three trumpeters and one bassist) it can’t help but be phenominal.
