“X Blades” is an adventure game which is similar to a cheap imitation of “Fable.”
The game is only single player.
“X-Blades,” for the X-Box 360 and Playstation 3, is an action/adventure game where you kill monsters with a combination of guns, blades and spells.
The game has 44 levels of simple gameplay.
It takes place in an “Indiana Jones” kind of world.
The main character is some kind of weird demonic half-cat, half-human hybrid named Ayumi.
You must search through a temple, collecting the articfacts and killing monsters, to try to find a way to lift the curse or make it stronger
Throughout the game, you must find “Monster Generators” and destroy them.
If you don’t, the monsters will spawn infinitely.
As you advance through the game, you collect experience points known as “souls.”
The more souls you collect, the stronger spells you can buy (like every other adventure game).
The end of every four levels, you must battle a boss which is an attribute creature of either Light or Darkness.
Melee, ranged attacks, and magic attacks are powered up by finding the pieces to the three artifacts: ruby, silver, and gold.
I very much enjoyed this game, but still thought “Fable” was much better.
Like “Fable,” you can choose your faith of alliance to either the side of good or bad, which in the end shows you one of two endings.
This is an excellent game for anyone who enjoys anime.
The graphics in this game were poor for one of this genre, the gameplay was poor as well, but it did serve well as a time killer.
I give this game a 1 of 5 for graphics and a 3 of 5 for gameplay.
