Who would’ve thought that the “Plug Walk’ rapper would eventually come out with more remarkable work for the hip hop and rap fans? Rich the Kid released his first studio album “The World is Yours 2” on March 22.
Consisting of 16 songs, the rapper was sure to include several featured artists as the final touch of pizzazz to make them much more incredible ranging from popular artists such as Young Thug, Miguel, Ty Dolla Sign, Big Sean, Tory Lanz, Gunna, and the members of the Migos group.
However, Rich the Kid’s mission was to also collaborate with up and coming artists who’ve recently made great first impressions in the music industry, such as NBA Youngboy, Jay Critch, NAV, Vory, and Boogie with a Hoodie.
Although the features are what made the album actually worth listening to, it was overall done quite well in terms of beats used, the funky instrumentation and of course the lyricism or what many would say, the rapper shared a few “bars.”
Strikingly, a few of the album’s songs are captured more as radio hits with it’s catchy chorus and auto-tuned sound. Precisely, songs taken into consideration are “Woah,” “Tic Toc” and “Rockets.”
In total honesty, it seemed as though his music career would have stopped with only guest featuring on other popular songs or just creating one hit wonders such as “Plug Walk,” but instead the 16 songs presented also made a statement of success.
When first viewing the album’s title and each song, it was somewhat difficult to fully comprehend and distinguish the message Rich the Kid is trying to portray, until one really goes in deep and listen to each and every song.
It’s quite common for rappers today, including Soundcloud rappers, to discuss money, girls, cars and drugs in there songs when compared to what hip hop and rap music use to be.
Neveretheless, Rich the Kid is one of the new rappers who in the meantime is following that sort of stigma, he is also going in deep and personal as he shares a story to the world that many can definitely relate to. No wonder the album is entitled “The World is Yours 2.”
It seems as though he doesn’t want to be deemed as another young rapper who doesn’t have potential in making successful music, but it turns out that he proved everyone wrong with these new improvements and changes.
