Amy Poehler directs and stars in the ultimate, all-female cast and takes viewers on a fun and adventurous story about six middle-aged friends dealing with their own personal problems.

“Wine County,” reunites the women of Saturday Night Live. From Tina Fey to Paula Pell and Emily Spivey, be ready to laugh at the random crap life throws at these ladies.

Some scenes can be a bit corny when watching these older ladies talk about current pop culture trends but expect Poehler to throw in jokes about millennials.

The story itself is a bit bland but you can tell these ladies have great chemistry on and off screen proving their real-life friendship.

Big fans of these ladies would enjoy the movie, but if you’re a normal viewer, the movie can be slow.

One appreciated factor this movie has is the many jokes in each and every scene. Most jokes are heartfelt ones making this movie relatable to the women watching.

What makes this movie relatable to all women at home is the topics discussed throughout the film that bring the six friends closer.

Rebecca played by actress, Rachel Dratch is turning 50 years old and has not accepted her age and is in denial about her bad marriage with her douchey husband.

In the end, she comes to her sense and accepts her age and horrible marriage with the help of her friends.

Poehler plays Abby, who loves to take control and plan out her life by the minute. Her OCD gets in the way of everyone’s fun and is annoying to watch. For a character that has no children, she does act as an organized mom.

Maya Rudolph plays Naomi, a character who is scared to accept death and does not have the courage to call her doctor back her for BRCA test results. Rudolph really embodies her character well, making viewers feel for her character.

Ana Gasteyer plays Catherine, a workaholic that struggles to balance friendship and work. Out of all the girls, Catherine has the biggest character development and it’s quite exciting to see.

Pell places store owner Val, a lesbian who has trouble finding someone to love in her age range. She is the jokester of the group and kindest.

Lastly, there is Jenny, played by actress Spivey. Jenny is an odd character, mainly fearful and loves to be in her own little bubble but when surrounded by her best friends, she’s ready to party.

All of these ladies are relatable, fun and embody what 50 looks like. It’s all about enjoying life at the moment with the people you love. “Age is just a number,” is said frequently by Rebecca and that alone sums up this witty and adventures movie.
