Falcon Square was home to an event that brought campus community together to acknowledge Breast Cancer, from Professors, to faculty, to students and even the kids from our child development programs who participated in this walk.
This is the seventeenth year of Cerritos College hosting a Breast Cancer Awareness walk.
Many participate to donate and fund an answer; Others participate because someone close to them are survivors or have passed from Breast Cancer. The participants held a meaningful reason to do the walk.
Physical Education instructor and Breast Cancer Walk coordinator Ni Bueno said, “This year we raised eight hundred and thirty-one dollars. We had one hundred and fifty kids from our day care participate and fifty- three from our faculty and students.”
Kahol Ford a research analyst here at Cerritos College said he wanted to support his co workers; laughingly he added, “The walk was thirty minutes long.”
His peer Clarence Wheeler, a research analyst here on campus said, “The walk was a great experience its for a great cause, you get to donate, and get some exercise.”
Debb Moore a librarian here at Cerritos College said she came out in honor of one our former librarians and a former coworker from another job.
She said, the walk was not that bad, “I had not done the walk in years it was about time I got back to it.”
All donations given go toward the Susan G. Komen Foundation for mammograms.
