And today we’re just going to get back into it’s another week. We’re nearing the end. I think we’re going to have one more show after this. If, if that and then we will be done until next semester. That’s something we want to tell you guys. If you do love our stuff, we will be back next semester, bringing you more from the film world. So first off, I kind of wanted to touch on Endgame you guys probably sick of us talking about Endgame already with the three parter/ two parter how many how many did we do? This is gonna be the third one, but we’re not going to spend too much time on it. So it’ll be all right. I wanted to talk about it leaping over Titanic in the numbers.

Okay, what is that? leaping over Titanic and the number two spot for highest grossing films of all time. So what are your guys thoughts?
Kianna Znika
In so last time I checked, it was $6 million away from the top movie, which is avatar. So that’s actually like, Yeah, it sounds like a lot of money to us. But in the film world, that’s not too far.
Michael Reza
Six, 6 million know that. It can definitely do 6 million.
Kianna Znika
Yeah, that can be done like within like this week or next week, if anything, and I know that a lot of people are still re watching it. I know. I’m going to go rewatch it tonight. But I don’t see anyone going to rewatch avatar. So I think avatar does have some competition right here.

Yeah, avatar sounds like it’s done making that money.

It did a fantastic job. What about you Derek? What do you think about that number two slot for Endgame?

It’s going to keep going?

Yeah, for sure. I feel like it’s gonna blow away, like blow out Avatar.
Kianna Znika
It is, the only thing that makes me sad is that so on film Twitter. Now everyone’s saying like, Well, does anyone remember remember avatar was Avatar you and about avatar was in a good movie. And I’m like, Okay, hold on, like, Endgame was a good movie. But you don’t have to put down another movie. Yes, like avatar was a great movie. I personally really liked it. I do remember the story. I remember the characters. Zoe Saldana must be celebrated right now because she’s in both those movies.

Yeah, it’s crazy. That movie was it was an iconic film and that changed the film industry on its head so Avatar was a unique obviously there are some reoccurring themes like with other movies but we’re it’s pretty unique and it stands alone.

With Atari only for the seven days factor get 2 billion.

Okay, so we’re talking, Okay. That gets an Avatar was a game changing movie. Yeah. So with Endgame, it’s going to be the longevity of it. Which we won’t see that thing out on Netflix or to buy in for probably almost a whole year because it’s going to do that well in theaters still. But yeah, so just wanted to touch base on on Endgame real quick.

Okay, yeah, Don Cheadle, his character War Machine is going to be gone. Yeah, ’causeI it all comes down to this new wave of superhero films that might come with a new generation of characters.

They could go back like remember when they did X-Men? They came out with two X-Men and then the third one they went back.

Exactly. Yeah, I think they’re gonna. Yeah, something. I think some of these characters is just done though.

Yeah, Chris Evans like his for sure said like, even in interviews like he’s been spoiling the movie since the beginning. He keeps saying like, no, we’re not coming back like no, this is it. Who is coming back though that I’m super excited about I’m excited about the AsGard-ardians of the Galaxy. Thor is still coming back. And I just love the dynamic between Thor and the Guardians of the Galaxy. I like it Then you really funny movie.

No, he’s he’s, he’s a staple on that series. Oh, yeah. Yeah, they probably love them. They’re Chris Pratt’s awesome in everything he does. So... I do know that. There is a plan to do six more movies, post end game. So obviously we have Spider-Man. We’ll have the next Guardians of the Galaxy.

I mean, just in the next year, a couple years. We’re going to see the first one the first sequel, first. And then they’re going to do something called the Eternals which is a which is the kind of sub faction of the Marvel Universe people are excited about. And then there’s one there’s one more...

Well, now I’m drawing a blank. But anyway, yeah, so we’re going to see six more Marvel films after Endgame which is kind of exciting and not to mention that Spider-Man teaser, that trailer came out just this past weekend and it was phenomenal I cannot wait for this one so now guys

Oh yeah, we’re talking about x men now. Dark Phoenix is going to be intense but going back to Spider-Man real quick, Zendaya who is our new Marie Jane we got we got the new Spider Man suit there’s so many things going on in this trailer. I was like Jesus they showed us almost the entire movie with it with Sandman and just other characters.

it’s awesome. I love that. I love that Iron Man-esque suit. Yeah, it’s awesome.

Oh, and then discussing the multiverse in the trailer. So that’s opening a lot of doors

Yeah, there’s so many dynamics going on with the Spider-Man movie it’s crazy.But yeah, I mean that that’s not that’s going to be coming soon right we’re not we’re going to see that within the next month and a half or something like that Sunday night. Yeah, yeah, it’s not too far far away.

And then it’s going to be an important movie in the development of Spider-Man because when we’ve seen Tom Holland in Spider-Man he’s still in high school. He’s still the friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But now I believe that end up seeing the trailer to this is going to be the movie where everyone’s pushing him and saying you’re not just a friendly neighborhood Spider-Man you were in space you fought with the Avengers, your real superhero. So we’re gonna see a lot of maturity a lot of growth coming from here.

Yeah, a lot of character development. A lot of Yeah, a lot of responsibility. It sounds like from the trailer. And it’s true he has been seen more than more than anyone he knows around him in a lifetime. So

evolving Spider-Man will be kind of cool to see and hopefully they can keep it on the right track because other Spider-Man franchises although good in their own right in their own little ways. This Spider-Man is the most all around whereas Yeah. Whereas the last spider man whose name is escaping me right now and you got Andrew Garfield was a great Peter Parker. No, he’s a great Spider-Man. And Toby Maguire was a very good Peter Parker. Yeah, so now with Tom Holland. We get to see all of that come together very nicely. And with storylines that kind of make more sense and aren’t cheesy.

AKA like emo Spider-Man.

So yes, definitely the best Spider-Man by far I feel like yeah, I guess with Andrew Garfield there’s a little bit of attitude problems and he kind of just wasn’t in the mode right now. Tom Holland seems like a more stable and honest character as far as his his passion for the project.

Yeah.And and there’s no debate about it took a Stan Lee himself. I don’t have the exact quote, but Stan Lee has said that Tom Holland is what he imagined Spider-M an to be. Yeah, Tom Holland just captures it perfectly. And the fact that Tom Holland has been wanting to play Spider-Man for so many years and then got the chance to play Spider-Man not only in its own little trilogy, but he got to play Spider-Man in the MCU you know, fighting with the Avengers and everything.

Yeah, he’s Peter Parker. He’s basically is Peter Parker.

Yeah, so all right, now switching gears a little bit. Everyone if you’re a Sega fan and you love video games or have just an affinity for it, even the cartoon Sonic the Hedgehog is getting it’s live action chance now coming later this year, which is crazy that I think it releases in October/November.

And let’s be honest guys those first cuts of of Sonic’s character with CGI were pretty rough. I don’t know he’s he had long legs he had odd human teeth.

And then we got Jim Carrey one of the greatest of all time playing Dr. Robotnik need him to be a little chunkier to just to be honest does let’s realize the role because he got his just playing Jim Carrey at this point, but...

I do like his character design though. I will say that out of the entire trailer. That’s good. Out of the entire trailer Jim Carrey was my favorite part because again, I love Jim Carrey and and just the mustache him like going into heat like becomes bald. Yeah, I was there for it. That was the only thing like carrying the entire movie on his back.

You could kind of feel you can it there definitely is a resemblance. And they did a good job in that sense. But they did not do a good job with with the actual star of the show Sonic the Hedgehog looking funky.

It did look like a Build-a-Bear. But Funny thing is that social media and the internet are still undefeated. If you didn’t know that already, the people spoke. The people spoke and they did not like the design like the rest of us. And some graphic designers got together and created a more look alike version of Sonic and it’s so dope that the director himself acknowledged it and he said and he apologize for the hacky job, I guess. And we got to, we got to see a live like, Hey, we’re going to take a look at this. And we’re going to make it better. And they have a lot of work to do. Because like I said, it comes out in the fall of this year. So they’re gonna have to be putting in work.

So I will say this and I’ll speak for the animators on Twitter. If you complain about the sonic design on Twitter, you better show up to see this movie ’cause these animators are working harder now because of your complaints. So if they’re working harder now working overtime and you still don’t give this much this money any movie, this movie any money shame on you, you just made these people work harder for nothing. This is a kids movie.

Yeah, we appreciate the fact that that the graphic designers who took the liberty to to make it better and get it out there. We appreciate that because we don’t want to see I don’t even know if I would have gone to see that movie.

It just looked too brutal. But the new design from what was sent looks much better. Looks like Sonic has the shorter body with the longer legs. Those red those red running shoes are are popping.

Yeah, I really hope it’s a big Tails I like tells a lot. If you play the game it’s Oh yeah, I recommend going back somehow. And like getting a Sega Genesis and blowing in that cartridge. Clean cleaning that cartridge out and playing that game because that is classic.

Are we gonna, yeah, make something happen? But yeah, that’s so that’s kind of all I wanted to touch on with those with the movies, but the Met Gala was this week this past week. And I don’t know if you guys want to talk about that. We saw some amazing outfits and some risky outfits. Lady Gaga was doing some crazy stuff. Katy Perry wore a hamburger.

I thought it was Chen Lee or anything. But Ezra Miller just blew the crowd away. That’s I wish I can somehow show the picture through this podcast. I’m so bad with words and supposed to be a writer. But he just did an amazing job. Same with all the actors from American Horror Story that is Lady Gaga included who was one of the hosts for the Met Gala. Harry Style was as well and he did go from the music world to the acting world.

I forgot his name Brian Porter’s his name from American Horror Story. He did an amazing job. So I want to like you know, say how proud I am a proud of Yes, but how grateful I am for the people who did show up in theme. Because if you’re going to the Oscars, yes, wear the black dress, wear the black suit, whatever. Okay, but if you’re going to a fashion show, and it has a theme, you should just not be allowed to enter if you’re not following the theme.

So not only is that your chance to like, make your mark in that in that event. Like it’s a big deal. When you see Nikki Minaj and like cardi B wearing giant freakin like dresses with long What do you call them?

Trains Yeah, it’s you’re trying to make a statement. And yeah, for me, I watch all this stuff. I don’t watch it live I watch I’ll watch through Instagram and I will go through the various channels for it. But I mean, I still enjoy seeing like some of the crazy outfits that people wear. Donald Glover always represent and with the with the nice suit. Anderson .Paak isn’t a movie guy, but just awesome, awesome outfits that you’ve seen all night and it’s a night for our stars to kind of be out there even more than some of them may be weird already.

Yeah, and they’re actors. Like if you’re embarrassed kind of shy you’re an actor just act like you’re someone else dressed up in the theme, Okay.

Um, but it’s always dope to see see what the stars are going to come out trotting with with the fashion so if you guys have anything else to add, as far as the movies go, we got Aladdin coming up this month will probably preview that maybe next week. The 24th. Guys the moment we’ve been waiting for. It may be cringey it may may not be. I’m a little scared.
