Paco Gonzalez, graphic design major, serenaded a group of girls cheering him on, as he sang Savage Garden’s “I Knew I Loved You” at Tuesday’s Karaoke day in the student center.
He was said to be the next “American Idol.”
Cynthia Chaidez, sociology major, “I fell in love with him; it was awesome.”
He added that he was a little nervous, but he got through it.
Following Gonzalez was Saul Romero, biochemistry major, who sang, Frank Sinatra’s “Come Fly With Me.”
He said that it was the first time he sang in front of a crowd because he exclaimed, “I sing more at home.”
He, like Gonzalez, was nervous before his performance but he said that he was glad that he did it.
After a moment the mood of the crowd had changed because two performers from Knotts’ Scary Farm showed up in the student center.
The performers went from table after table looking to scare students.
If students danced the winner won free tickets to Knott’s Scary Farm’s Halloween Night Oct. 31.
Twenty students stood on stage and danced to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.”
The two people who won were decided by applause. Aaron Romos, culinary arts major, won the first free ticket.
He thought it was funny that he won.
In contrast, Shiquita Boyd-Sargent, dance major, the second winner of the free tickets said, “It is awesome, and I took hip-hop classes before, so this is great.”
