Madonna’s new video for her song “Hung Up” harkens back to the Madonna fans knew when she first exploded on to the music scene in 1983.
Directed by Johan Renck (who replaced David LaChappell after he and Madonna had “artistic differences”) in the first few moments of the video it shows the Queen of Pop, wearing a pink leotard, inside a dance studio going over her dance moves with mirrors all around.
She puts the moves on the stereo as the song is played.
She also does the splits on the floor, and my first thought was, “Oh God, I wish I could do that!”
Madonna was a former ballet dancer.
That pink leotard, however, did grab my attention.
She hasn’t looked that good in a leotard since the ’80s.
Fans out there may or may not agree.
Remember the Madonna wannabes?
After the lyrics of “Waiting for your call/Baby night and day/I’m fed up/I’m tired of waiting on you,” the scene shifts to a back-alley tunnel with Madonna walking down the street (similar to the 2004 “Love Profusion” video).
I have to admit that no matter what Madonna wears she still looks good in a leather jacket and blue jeans.
She runs into men dancing along the way with the dancers from the ReInvention Tour.
The male dancers are not wearing shirts!
Not only that she comes in contact four or five men, but she nearly kisses those men before she pulls away.
She did the same thing for her duet with Britney Spears for the 2003 music video “Me Against the Music.”
The video may not be “Vogue,” but believe me if Madonna looks and feels this young I believe singers Britney Spears or Gwen Stefani will have a hard time following the footsteps of Madonna.
