Members of the Disable Students Program and Service held its second annual Wheelchair Basketball game last Wednesday in the gym.
More than 30 people attended the event that gave students the opportunity to participate and fundraise for the DSPS club.
The amount that was raised for the DSPS program and club was more than $600.
David Rodarte, commissioner of disable students, commented that the turnout was a success during Monday Cabinet meeting. He added that seeing numerous people show support was reflection within all who were there.
Players from the Cerritos College men’s basketball team also participated.
“There was this one student who was so happy because in the audience were his parents, aunt and uncle and for him to see that it was great,” Rodarte said.
Among others who were also in attendance was ASCC President Joe Cobarrubio.
He also said that it was a great turnout.
