The ASCC Senate election results from last Wednesday and Thursday are in and posted at the ASCC building.
Newly elected senator Juan Guerra, political science major, stated “I want to make a difference here at Cerritos College.”
A total of 290 votes were counted and there were three voids.
Guerra said “I wants to propose WiFi on campus so as to eliminate the congestion at the computer lab and library.”
He encourages students to submit a letter to the ASCC if they have any type of suggestion or comment as to any change they want to see happen on campus.
The first senate meeting will be held today at 2 p.m. and the next will be on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.
The election of senators will take place and each senator may hold only one of the following positions:
- President Pro-Tempore- this person serves as Senate Chair in the event of the absence of the President.
- Majority Leader- heads class with the greatest number of senators.
- Minority Leader- heads class with the least number of senators.
- Sergeant at Arms- in charge of maintaining order during the senate meetings.
- Senate Liaison- represents the ASCC Senate at faculty senate mettings.
