According to a police report, a man assaulted a woman by the Fine Arts building on Wednesday.
She was walking on the west side of the Fine Arts building when he grabbed the victim and attempted to drag her south of the building.
The victim defended herself and fled the scene.
The suspect is described to be a Hispanic or African-American man in his early 20s.
He is described to be 6 feet tall, 200 pounds or more, an athletic build and having a goatee.
His attire is described as a black hooded sweatshirt, dark jeans and dark shoes.

The campus police has the following tips for basic safety precautions:
- be aware of surroundings and know what is typical and what isn’t,
- call 911 from a campus phone or (562) 402-3674 from a cell phone to report suspicious activity,
- travel with others or call campus police for a security escort if needed,
- let others know where you are going, especially if going alone,
- go to where there are other people,
- headphones lower ability to be aware of surroundings,
- keep keys in hand when heading to vehicle,
- keep windows and doors locked
- check the inside of vehicle before entering and
- go to the nearest open business or police station if being followed.
