America’s red, white and blue colors adorned the quad area this past Sept. 17. Cerritos College was host to Constitution Day, which celebrated the actual signing of the Constitution on Sept. 17, 1787.
The idea of the event was to promote participation and to show pride for our campus. Holly Bogdanovich, director of student services, was handing out voter registrations forms.
She was also urging students to register before the deadline, which is Oct. 20.
Being election year, she made it more evident that it was important to sign up and help shape our future.
Bogdanovich was also awarding Show Pride half points for wearing red, white and blue, or for taking a quiz relating to the Constitution.
Show Pride is a program that encourages pride on campus and awards students that do so, as well as being a good extracurricular activity to have on your transcript.
The event was organized by the ASCC and booths from different departments were set up. There were snacks and drinks for sale, as well as help with financial aid and other school services.
