Dr. Rob Watson beautifully played a piano set called Viva Espana on September 21 here at Cerritos College.
The concert included works by Granados, Scarlatti, Debussy and Ravel and was a successful opening to a series of piano concerts on campus.
Dr. Watson has been playing since the age of seven. He prepares for a concert by first “analyzing the music until you know it inside out,” then practicing followed by rehearsals.
This past summer, Dr. Watson played in Bulgaria and was invited to perform at the International Chamber of Music during the Sophia Music week.
Dr. Watson has been a professor of music at Cal State Fullerton for nine years and plays about four to ten concerts a year.
Everyone who is a fan of music will enjoy listening to Dr. Watson play and are encouraged to attend his next piano concert on October 19 at three p.m. in room BC 51.
The concert will have free admission and parking.
